Using the Private Journal
Learn how your client can use the mobile app's journal feature for personal reflection.
What is the Private Journal?
The Coming Home mobile app includes a private journal feature for clients. Your client can use the journal to reflect, write, and track their thoughts or progress over time.
Important: Journal entries are private to the client and are not visible to you or anyone else on the care team.
Who Can Access the Journal
- Clients
- Can write, view, and manage their own journal entries
- Their entries are not shared with anyone, including their care provider
- Care Providers
- Cannot view a client's journal entries under any circumstance
How Your Client Uses the Journal
- Your client opens the Journal section of the mobile app.

- Your client writes a new entry whenever they'd like to reflect.

- Entries are saved privately within the app and are only visible to your client.

Why it matters: Not every reflection needs to be shared with a care team. Giving your client a private space of their own supports trust in the platform and encourages honest self-reflection.
Tips/Best Practices
- Reassure your client about privacy: Let them know clearly that journal entries are theirs alone, so they feel safe using the feature.
- Don't ask clients to share journal content unless they choose to: The value of the journal depends on it staying private.
